Switching from Octo Browser

What you gain and what you lose
You gain:
- a price that doesn't depend on the number of profiles. Octo's plan is a package of profiles, and the next hundred costs the next chunk of money. Our price is one price;
- access without paying. Stop paying and profiles still open — the data stays yours;
- everything on your own machine, no one else's cloud;
- a free way in. Octo has no permanent free plan at all; we have a trial of 7 days and 100 profiles, no card.
You lose:
- team work — members, roles, profile tasks. We don't have this;
- any number of devices per account — our licence is tied to a computer, and moving to another machine is done by export;
- the built-in proxy store — you'll have to buy addresses separately, and that's a separate line of expense. Work it out before you switch;
- iOS and Android apps;
- macOS and Linux — Morfiade is Windows 10 and 11 only.
If something from the second list is something you actually use — don't switch. This goes especially for the team feature and the proxy shop: we don't replace the first with anything, and you'll have to cover the second out of your own pocket.
How to move
1. Export your profiles and cookies from Octo. They have profile export and profile transfer. Take the cookies along with it — a profile without cookies arrives logged out.
2. Write down your proxies. Addresses, ports, logins, passwords. If the addresses were bought inside Octo, check ahead of time whether you'll keep them after leaving. In Morfiade, proxies go into a library once and are then assigned to profiles.
3. Set up profiles in Morfiade, repeating the same names and categories — that makes it easier to check nothing was lost.
4. Load the cookies. After that, the profile opens already logged in.
5. Check the proxies before you start working, not after. The check shows not just whether it's alive but also which country it actually exits from. A mismatch between that country and the browser's settings is more noticeable than the proxy itself.
⚠️ What to honestly expect. Sessions stored in cookies carry over. Passwords saved inside profiles do not: you'll have to move them with Chrome's built-in export to a file. The reason is explained in the article on App-Bound Encryption.
About profile templates and fingerprints
Octo's templates don't carry over to us: our fingerprint is built by our own logic and matches the proxy's country. This isn't a loss — what matters isn't the uniqueness of the values but their consistency. More on this — browser fingerprint.
How long it takes
A dozen profiles — an evening. A hundred — a day, and most of that time goes into checking: opening each profile and confirming the login is there. A reasonable plan is to move part of them, work on the trial for a week, and only then decide for good.
What doesn't change
No program of this class cancels the platforms' rules. And none of them fixes a bad proxy: a datacentre address collects captchas no matter the fingerprint — we've tested this live, and it's cured by residential proxies, not by settings.
